Former Wigan and Wales forward Ben Flower: "Technology allows the detection of defects which are invisible to the naked eye. Capturing the problem when it's that small saves thousands of pounds."
Electronic Leak Detection
Electronic leak detection is well suited to any flat roof, whether it be on a commercial or residential property.
We use an electrical current to help identify any defects in the roof such as punctures to the surface or small pinholes that are allowing moisture to enter.
The survey helps us to confirm that a waterproofing installation is undamaged, provides us an accurate location of any leaks and that your roof remains fit for purpose.
Water enters a flat roof through defects in its waterproofing such as deterioration over time, tears, cuts, failed flashings, seams or poorly sealed penetrations.
By rapidly identifying any leaks or compromises to your flat roof we can help prevent production losses, equipment downtime and damage to structural components which lead to unnecessary costs.
Electronic surveys can also be used as a quality control measure for both contractors and clients to check that new installations or repairs have been carried out to the highest standards.
Thermographic Inspections
Thermographic inspections use infrared and still cameras to identify any light that is in the heat spectrum.
The images on the video allow us to see temperature variations in the building’s skin by showing us the warmer and cooler regions. These images serve several purposes, allowing us to see whether insulation is needed and to insure that insulation has been fitted correctly.
We use the technology specifically on flat roofs to help us identify any areas that there may be a leak. Wet insulation will conduct heat faster than dry insulation, so by seeing areas of large heat loss we can identify where your waterproofing is damaged and moisture is compromising your internal structures.
Just like electronic detection, thermal detection is a brilliant tool for quality control for both contractors and clients to check that new installations or repairs have been carried out to the highest standards.
